Maricopa General Plan
HUB’s Principal and founder, Dana Burkhardt developed and managed the decennial comprehensive update to the City of Maricopa General Plan. The process included a three month strategic visioning exercise with community stakeholders, elected officials, and citizens. After extensive community engagement over a period of nearly two years, the citizens adopted Planning Maricopa by an 84% majority in the 2016 General Election. Major issues addressed included growth management and cost of development, downtown redevelopment, and incorporating long range transportation strategies with land uses. Planning Maricopa promotes compact mixed-use village centered growth areas with a form-based transect development pattern.
